Poplar Poultry now at Little Morton Farm are rearing regular batches of all three hybrids shown below. We cater for all your needs so whether you want one bird to add to your collection or 500 for egg production we are here to help. We offer discounts for purchases of larger quantities of birds please contact Little Morton Farm for further details.
All birds are reared to an excellent standard. Their welfare is paramount and we invest much of our time to ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times. All birds are fully vaccinated including the salmonella vaccine.


Black Rock

Starts at 18 weeks 290 annually light brown day old to point-of-lay fully vaccinated
Description: This hybrid bird is an attractive looking bird which is based on a cross between a commercial barred rock and a Rhode Island Red. These attractive looking birds will produce up to 290 brown shelled eggs in a year. At present these birds are not produced by Poplar Poultry but are available at certain times of the year as point of lay birds. (pictures above show colour variation) *Black Rocks are also available from Poplar Poultry at certain times of the year.



Brown Hybrid

Starts at 18 weeks 365 annually light brown point-of-lay fully vaccinated
Description: This is a commercial bird which will produce over 300 eggs in a year of a good colour, size and quality. There are several different breeds available however at Poplar Poultry we stock point of lay birds which are normally either Lohman or Hisex.



White Hybrid

Description: White coloured birds based upon a White Leghorn. A very light bodied bird which produces large quantities of good size white eggs.



Amber Hybrid

Starts at 18-21 weeks 320 - 340 annually Light Brown point-of-lay fully vaccinated
Description: These birds are a white bird with brown flecking, there is a wide variation in the shades of browns from chocolate to amber. They are a docile friendly bird which will lay a good colour and size egg.



Blue Hybrid

These birds are an attractive full bodied bird.



Speckled Hybrid

Starts at 18-21 weeks 320 - 340 annually Light Brown point-of-lay fully vaccinated
An attractive speckled bird which will lay a good size egg. These are bred from a French Copper Black Maran which produces a feathered leg bird. The eggs are speckeldy brown in colour.



Black Hybrid

similar to the Black Rock this black hybrid is a friendly bird which will lay extremely well. This is a black bird with ginger flecking throughout.
