Poplar Poultry now at Little Morton Farm are rearing regular batches of all three hybrids shown below. We cater for all your needs so whether you want one bird to add to your collection or 500 for egg production we are here to help. All birds are reared to an excellent standard. Their welfare is paramount and we invest much of our time to ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times. All birds are fully vaccinated.




Brown Hybrid

Starts at 18 weeks 320-340 annually light brown point-of-lay fully vaccinated
Description: This is a commercial bird which will produce over 300 eggs in a year of a good colour, size and quality. There are several different breeds available however at Poplar Poultry we stock point of lay birds which are normally either Lohman or Hisex.



White Hybrid

Description: White coloured birds based upon a White Leghorn. A very light bodied bird which produces large quantities of good size white eggs.



Amber Hybrid

Starts at 18-21 weeks 290-320 annually Light Brown point-of-lay fully vaccinated
Description: These birds are a white bird with brown flecking, there is a wide variation in the shades of browns from chocolate to amber. They are a docile friendly bird which will lay a good colour and size egg.



Blue Hybrid

These birds are an attractive full bodied bird.



Speckled Hybrid

An attractive speckled bird which will lay a good size egg. These are bred from a French Copper Black Maran which produces a feathered leg bird. The eggs are speckeldy brown in colour.



Black Hybrid

The black hybrid is a friendly bird which will lay extremely well. This is a black bird with ginger flecking throughout.



The Sussex Hybrid

The Sussex hybrid is a very docile and attractive looking bird. Combined with production of light brown eggs.



The Blue Egg Hybrid

Starts at 25-30 weeks 250 annually Blue/Green point of lay not vaccinated
The blue egg hybrid is based upon cream legbars. It produces a good number of blue/green eggs. This bird will produce well for a number of laying years. We rear small batches of these birds and are normally avilable in march/april. Please call for availability.
