Here at Little Morton farm we stock two ranges of quality chicken Coops, our craftsman built timber range from Granddad Rob Designs and Smiths Sectional Buildings and eco - recycled plastic Coops from both Green Frog Designs and Henlays Coops.

Keeping Chickens is ultimately a fantastic hobby and starting with the right chicken Coop is definitely one of the most important decisions you will make.

We aim to offer you a choice of Coops that is not only functional for both your chickens and you but also something that looks good too.  One recommendation we will always make when talking to new prospective chicken keepers is to buy a chicken Coop that is easy to access and clean.  If you make looking after your chickens and regular cleaning an easy task then you and your chickens will benefit and is the best way to prevent any potential problems.

Granddad Rob Designs -Craftsman built Animal Housing

Little Morton Farm has been stocking a range of animal housing from Granddad Rob(previously Forsham Cottage Arks) since Autumn of 2001.  We believe this is the best designed timber chicken coops and arks available and our proud to of been working with Rob for the last 20 years.  His experience makes him in our opinion one of the best, so if you are looking for a quality chicken coop or ark made by a craftsman then look no further.  Both the haydock chicken coop and the brighton chicken ark are on on display at the farm.  

The Haydock Chicken Coop


The haydock chicken coop, made from pressure treated joinery grade red pine and 12mm marine grade ply.  All joints are glued mortise and tenon and everything is screwed with zinc plated screws. 

A raised coop offering your birds protection from the sun and rain as well as giving you easier access for cleaning and collecting eggs.

All coops are fitted with a night shutter on the nest boxes keeping the nest box and your eggs clean.

Easy access with lifting roof and removable sides for cleaning and maintenance.

The Haydock is 165cm wide, 103cm deep and 145cm high.

The Haydock can be fitted with the Chickenguard Extreme door opener if required.

The Haydock Chicken Coop with optional Run

The optional run for the Haydock chicken coop is a stand alone run which docks up to the Haydock house.  It has an access door on one side and a large access door on the end gable.  The covered area offers somewhere for your chickens to shelter from the weather as a dry place to place your feeder.

The run is 1m wide and 2m in length.


The Brighton Chicken Ark

The brighton chicken ark offers the a complete package of sleeping area and run area in one which is great for the first time keeper, the ark can be easily moved and keeps your chickens safe from predators.

With easy access, both sides lifting up and the nest box area being fully removable, cleaning and maintenance become simple.

All arks are fitted with a night shutter on the nest boxes keeping the nest box and your eggs clean. The ark can accommodate 4 medium hybrid sized chickens or 6 when the extension run is added. 

The ark is 125cm wide, 177cm in length and 122cm high.

Recycled plastic chicken coop made in Somerset using UK recycled plastic stock board.  Suitable for 4-6 Medium sized chickens.

We have these in stock and on display at Little Morton Farm.

We are a stockist of the chicken guard automatic openers and have a working display in the shop and can show you the process of one working.  We also use them ourselves and have found them to a fantastic product which is very simple to use.
